Drax, Sheffield and Sutton Fields

Bank holiday weekend saw the team at Weardale show and then Drax and we started September in Norfolk Heritage Park, Sheffield and Sutton Fields.

We had been approached by Weardale Agricultural Society to put on a demo at their annual show - always glad of an opporunity to show the public what we can do we agreed and a number of the team attended. On some very uphill ground we ably demonstrated how to do flyball right and then how it could all go wrong! Despite the very different environment all the dogs did great and ran well with the crowd well and truly behind some of our less able new dogs - a big cheer when Nell got it right!!

We then travelled down to Drax where we had two teams running on the Sunday - in different arenas but alongside each other!! It was a very busy division with dogs swapped in and out of the van between races and whilst our competitors, judges and ring party very patiently waited for us to run from ring to ring!! We came away with a first place in division 6 with the Tailgunners and 4th place in division 10 with the Tailspinners. Well done to Meg who should have got the points for her Silver award and to Jake for getting the points for his flyball dog!!

On Monday we had Millie running in Multibreed with the Gofours - she ran fab clocking up a few more points and showing us how flexible she can be adapting easily to a Canadian box!

The following week saw the return of Leanne and Floyd to training! Floyd ran well after his 7 weeks off if a little off his peak of fitness! So we set off to Sheffield with the Tailgunners, Tailtwisters and the Tinkers starters team!

The Tinkers starter team were up first with Tina, Jack, Blaze and Nell running well once we got into the swing of it only losing the first race whilst we remembered what we were doing - it was very early! We came away with a well deserved 2nd place and everyone ran fab!

Tailgunners were up next with Floyd, Misty, Ben, Meg and Suki. Thanks to Mandy for handling Meg, Gillian for handling Misty and Jean for handling Ben - first time and you did fab! We had a colourful day with plenty of lights and came away with a 5th place in division 5 - not our best day but still good fun - thanks to Jo on our line and Martyn for box loading!!

After racing we found a fish and chip shop and then joined the Steelers and other teams in their party tent - for a lovely friendly evening!

Sunday saw the Tailtwisters - Bruno, Shadow, Jack and River - racing in division 3. They all ran well with only a few lights and a few despairing glances from Sam on our line! Must tighten those crosses! We came away with a respectable third!

Finally, we travelled across country to Sutton Fields in Cheshire - again short handed with just one team running on the Sunday. We travelled down via Farmer Copleys to check it out for a show venue - definite potential - and managed to purchase some excellent food to get us through the weekend!

Got our tents up and enjoyed some excellent food and wine!! We were joined by David and Adam bright and early and ready for racing, first division in! It was great to have so much support from other teams with Ryan (Alpha Dogz) running River, Christina (Allstars) despairing on the line and Steve (Dolphins) box loading - thanks all. Floyd was showing signs of returning to his previous form, Misty didn't put a paw out of place all day, Jack and Storm ran their paws off as ever and River ran well as both first and last dog. Some reasonable times saw us top of a three way tie and managing a 2nd place in the division - some good close racing was enjoyed by all!

After racing and judging we finished the day with a round of crazy golf - very entertaining!! A very chilled couple of weekends with some lush company. Looking forward to next time!
